There are certain TV shows that are just television shows…and then there are the ones that somehow become a feeling.
Gilmore Girls is definitely a feeling.
It’s that first cool morning when you realize fall is finally on its way. It’s a hot cup of coffee, a cozy sweater, stacks of books, colorful leaves, and the idea of living in a charming little town where everyone knows everyone—and there always seems to be some sort of festival happening in the town square.
And now I’ve turned a little bit of that Stars Hollow magic into watercolor!
I’m so excited to introduce my newest 8×10 Gilmore Girls-inspired watercolor print, featuring some of the places and details that have made the show so beloved.
Welcome to Stars Hollow
When I started thinking about this painting, I knew I didn’t want to focus on just one location.
I wanted to create something that felt like a little trip through Stars Hollow.
After all, the town itself is practically another character in the show.
So I brought together some of the places that immediately make me think of Gilmore Girls, including Luke’s Diner, the Stars Hollow gazebo, the Dragonfly Inn, Lorelai and Rory’s house, and Miss Patty’s School of Dance, along with other little details inspired by the show.
I love creating watercolor collections like this because each individual element tells a tiny piece of the story. When they’re all brought together, they create something that feels wonderfully nostalgic.
And if you’re a Gilmore Girls fan, you probably don’t just see a diner when you look at Luke’s.
You remember the coffee.
You remember Luke standing behind the counter.
You remember Lorelai walking in and talking approximately 900 words per minute before she had even finished her first cup. Ha!
The gazebo isn’t simply a gazebo, either. It’s the center of Stars Hollow—the backdrop for festivals, town gatherings, celebrations, conversations, and so many memorable moments throughout the series.
And then there’s Lorelai and Rory’s house, the Dragonfly Inn, Miss Patty’s…and all those familiar places that make the fictional town feel surprisingly real.

Why Does Gilmore Girls Feel So Much Like Fall?
I don’t know that I’ll ever be able to completely separate Gilmore Girls from fall.
Maybe it’s all those beautiful New England scenes.
Maybe it’s the coffee.
Maybe it’s the books, cozy interiors, small-town streets, and changing leaves.
Or maybe it’s simply because Gilmore Girls has become a comfort show for so many of us.
There’s something wonderful about returning to a story when you already know the characters. You know their quirks. You know what’s coming. You know which scenes will make you laugh and which ones will make you want to yell at the television.
It’s familiar.
And there’s something especially comforting about familiar things.
Painting Places That Hold Memories
If you’ve followed my artwork for very long, you know that painting places is one of my favorite things to do.
I paint homes, churches, wedding venues, college buildings, downtown landmarks, storefronts, and other places that hold meaning for people.
My goal has always been to tell the story of a place through watercolor in a way that immediately brings back the memories associated with it.
Usually, those places are real.
But I think it’s fascinating that fictional places can create that same sense of nostalgia.
Stars Hollow may not be a town we can actually move to—unfortunately—but after spending so many hours watching these characters walk its streets, drink coffee at Luke’s, attend town meetings, and gather around the gazebo, it somehow feels familiar anyway.
That’s what I wanted this painting to capture.
Not simply recognizable buildings, but that warm, cozy, slightly quirky Stars Hollow feeling.
