Recently I sketched a few of my favorite downtown Perry shops for the Dogwood Festival.

Sketching is so enjoyable. I can just freehand it, get lost in the fun of creating, and not have to worry about making everything perfect or include too many details. I have a handful left that you can purchase from our space in Lanier Hays Design in downtown Perry or from our online shop.

I love @bridalsbygilbert in downtown Perry. I started this sketch during the @perrydogwoodfestival and then I went to a conference, birthdays, Easter, life… and I finished it just a few days ago.

It just makes me happy. I hope it makes you happy too.

I stumbled upon the @wilddaisyfarm on Instgram, and had to sketch their lavender shack in my sketchbook.

I am obsessed with lavender and have been since I was a teenager. It is my favorite scent!

I cannot wait to go to this farm in real life and do some #travelsketching How beautiful!

When I was a wedding planner in Athens, I planned the majority of my weddings at the University of Georgia Chapel closely followed by Athens First United Methodist Church.

It’s a beautiful church and it has the longest aisle in Athens, so it was a dream location for many brides.

When I was a wedding planner in Athens, there were a handful of churches and venues that I knew like the back of my hand, they were so popular. The Athens Botanical Garden Day Chapel was one of those places. So painting it brought back all the familiar feelings of working and planning beautiful weddings in this special place.

Christ Church in Macon, Georgia, is the oldest in the historic city, and one of the most beautiful!

A few months ago, I was asked if I would license my painting of Perry Methodist Church to be included in a wedding invitation suite. The bride, Mary Margaret, had a clear vision of what she wanted, and it turned out beautifully!

Last week we did something fun! We moved into a space in Macon.

I love the show Friends. I love it so much, I can quote almost every episode. It was a part of my high school and college days and carried on many years later. I still watch episodes over and over again. The humor is still just as relevant today as it was then for me.
