Macon’s Historic Charm in Bloom

There’s something magical about Macon, Georgia. It feels like you can almost and reach out and touch history in certain places. And in the spring when the cherry blossoms bloom, they seem to sprinkle a little pink enchantment across the city, softening the steeples of historic churches and framing beloved landmarks in a way that feels timeless.

That beauty is exactly what inspired my latest watercolor: a Macon community watercolor piece that brings together the architectural history and natural charm that make this town so special.

In this new painting, you’ll spot some of the churches and landmarks that have shaped Macon’s story for generations—each detail painted with care, each brushstroke holding a memory of the city’s unique character. And of course, the cherry blossoms tie it all together, just as they do in real life every spring during the Cherry Blossom Festival.

Whether you grew up in Macon, moved there, or simply admire Macon’s southern charm, I hope you’ll find a piece of your own story tucked inside of Macon’s through this painting.

Prints of my Macon watercolor are now available in my shop online. This Macon watercolor makes a meaningful gift, a perfect addition to your home, or a way to hold onto a little piece of Macon’s spirit wherever you may be.

By Labor Day, prints will also be available in my space at Forsyth Antiques & More and at Lanier Hays Design in downtown Perry.
