Macon County, GA Collage
One of my best sellers is the Macon County, Georgia, collage. I painted it in 2019 - the first collage I ever painted actually- for a state tourism resource team to visit our rural county.
I enjoyed painting it so much that I’ve created several community collages at this point and have a long list of others to be painted. I love, love, love capturing landmarks for communities or special events on paper. It truly makes my heart sing!
The Macon County Watercolor Collage includes: Oglethorpe landmarks of the historic Macon County Courthouse, Mt. Zion-St. Luke Lutheran Church and Oglethorpe United Methodist Church; Marshallville area landmarks are Massee Lane Gardens, The Rumph House and Camp John Hope; Montezuma landmarks are the Rail Depot, Montezuma United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church, the Walter-Mathews Home, Flint River Farms School, Carnegie Library, Troy’s Snack Shack, the old Josie’s building, Howard Brown Farm Stand, Yoder’s Deitsch House (called the Mennonite Restaurant by locals), and the huge old white bank building; and the Ideal landmark is the train depot. You’ll also see a tractor, lots of pine trees, corn crops as Chase Farms is well-known for, the railroad that built this community, and the mighty Flint River that flows through it all.
